...that the "Kentucky Bridge" will be closed.

So...if you are a "party animal"...and like to do your partying in Paducah or other points East...start early and leave early...or start whenever and stay late!

And, more importantly, you teachers that stay late on Fridays to grade papers and write lesson plans tied to the state standards - contrary to an old adage with a distinctly different reference - you CAN take it with you!

Western Kentucky bridge to be closed this weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - State officials say they will close a western Kentucky bridge this weekend during evening hours so maintenance can be done.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the Wickliffe-Cairo Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. (Central Time) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

The Cabinet says a contractor will complete painting the bridge and state officials will inspect the structure.

The bridge crosses the Ohio River between Kentucky and Illinois and carries approximately 6,000 vehicles on U.S. 51, U.S. 60, and U.S. 62.
