SIUC Chancellor Fernando Treviņo announced the names of the seven faculty members set to serve on a committee to review plagiarism allegations against SIU President Glenn Poshard Friday.
The committee - which includes the chairman of the department that declined to review Poshard's dissertation last week - is made up mostly of the top elected officials in the Faculty Senate, the Graduate Council and the Faculty Association.
"These were people that were elected by their constituency groups," Treviņo said.
Treviņo said Faculty Association President Marvin Zeman was the only top-ranking official unable to serve on the committee and association member Philip Howze is to serve in his place. Zeman did not immediately return a call for comment Friday.
The Faculty Senate representatives are:
Ramanarayanan Viswanathan, senate president and electrical and computer engineering professor.
Peggy Stockdale, senate vice-president and psychology professor.
David S. Worrells, senate secretary associate professor of aviation management and flight.
The Graduate Council representatives are:
Spyros Tragoudas, council chairman and professor of electrical and computer engineering.
Brad Colwell, council vice-chairman and chairman of the Department of Educational Administration and Higher Education.
The Faculty Association representatives are:
Lenore Langsdorf, association vice-president and professor of speech communication.
Philip Howze, association member and professor of library affairs.
Treviņo said all members are tenured and have agreed to serve on the committee.
