School Superintendent Placed on Leave

GALATIA, Ill. - The superintendent of the Galatia school district is no longer in charge after the school board placed him on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of an employee sexual harassment investigation.

Ron Driemeier was placed on administrative leave back in July at the onset of the criminal investigation.

The school board discovered that his certification had lapsed shortly thereafter, but the district had continued paying him from July 5th to August 22nd.

Now the former superintendent isn't being paid at all and his reinstatement is pending upon the outcome of the employee sexual harrassement investigation.
