CAT Tracks for May 10, 2008 2008-09 SCHOOL CALENDAR

FYI...

Received an update on the proposed calendar for the 2008-09 school year...some proposed amendments to what was distributed earlier. None of this is official until adopted by the Board of Education.

For you "old timers"...CAUTION! Projection of the last day of school is different. In the past, a last day was listed with the knowledge that any emergency days not used would be subtracted to arrive at the actual date. On the calendar below, a last day is listed (May 28th), BUT any emergency days used (up to five) would be ADDED to May 28th. So...do NOT make any definite plans to be somewhere other than school until AFTER June 4, 2009.

Also, noticed that there is an additional teachers' institute proposed...keeping the two previously published for the beginning of the school year, with the addition of one at the end...the day before the last day of student attendance. In short, there are three listed instead of the usual two. (Note: The original proposed calendar listed 185 total calendar days, whereas this latest proposal shows 186! That is one more day than "normal".)
