GIVING IT UP FOR CANCER RESEARCH |
Saw a headline about this story a few days ago.
Took it upon myself to e-mail one of our math teachers at the high school...inquiring as to whether she would be willing to shave HER head if the Juniors made AYP on the PSAE test.
Well, her response was short and none-too-sweet. She said NO, but that I should definitely consider doing so since in my case "it would be no great loss."
She doesn't know it yet...until she reads this edition of CAT Tracks - along with the rest of y'all - but I came very, VERY close to calling her the "B" word...again.
However, upon further reflection, I decided that too many years had passed since the first time and that she was WAY too old to be rolling on the floor.
Gotcha!

Teacher Has Her Head Shaved
CARBONDALE -- A Carbondale High School teacher promised to shave her head if students raised $1,000 for Relay for Life.
Today she kept her end of the deal.
"It doesn't look bad, " Carrie Mueller said of her new 'do.
Mueller says the students raised the money by selling locker tags and soliciting donations.
She says making this dramatic change in appearance is worth it.
"I'm happy to do it," Mueller said. "It's just kind of my way of tipping my hat to people who really actually have to deal with cancer. A good friend of mine had it, my grandmother died of lymphoma. So it is a cause that's near and dear to my heart."
All of the money raised during Relay for Life goes toward cancer research
