CAT Tracks for April 11, 2008 HELP WANTED

Calling James Gibson...

Oops...forgot...we never, ever call James Gibson.

Cairo School District Number One would rather pay James Gibson NOT to teach.

CSD #1 would rather reduce course offerings to students, claiming that we cannot find a qualified math teacher (although James Gibson is certified to teach mathematics in Illinois.)

CSD #1 would rather pay a big chunk of that $108,000 that was spent on lawyers last year...to wage a vendetta against James Gibson that was started by a former superintendent and almost-principal of CJSHS...two individuals who would themselves fall out of favor and leave the district. (Maybe THAT fact should have told the "powers that be" something about who was right!)

As we approach the negotiating season, I can hardly wait for the first utterance by District officials that "We're broke...we can't afford to give employees a raise."
