CAT Tracks for February 21, 2008
ROBBINS, SCHWARTZ ET AL |
While we are waiting for the District to respond to the IEA's FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request about the money paid to "Barney & Friends", here's what the District published in this week's Cairo Citizen.
By law, every school district is required to publish a summary of its financial "affairs" for each fiscal year. Below is a partial listing of "vendors" - the individuals and/or companies that the District paid - for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2007.
Pity the District's "Chicago Law Firm"...they did not break the "top ten" last year...finishing at #11 with $108,150.43. I mean, they gave it a good shot...but they will just have to try harder!
(Of course, the number listed doesn't include "incidentals"...like the amounts that the District had to pay for, say, mileage, meals, and lodging when they went out of town to fight their legal battles, or the amount that the District had to pay to the "litigants" when the District lost its legal cases in arbitration or at the IELRB, or... Need I say more?!)
Read 'em and weep...
