CAT Tracks for November 1, 2007 SPECIAL BOE MEETING - MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. with Burris, Mallory, Stubblefield, and Gooden answering roll call.

No member of the audience asked to be recognized to speak.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to enter closed session at 6:03 p.m. (During closed session, CJSHS Principal Lynn Byrd was telephoned and asked to come to the meeting. Upon arrival, Mr. Byrd entered closed session and remained for about 15 minutes.) The BOE voted to exit closed session at 7:20 p.m.

Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education:

• Approve Superintendent's Contract - This item was actually skipped, but after the other actions, Superintendent Rogers told the audience that the matter had been tabled.
• A motion was made, seconded, and passed to employ Vonda Williams as Assistant Girls Basketball Coach (High School)
• A motion was made, seconded, and passed to employ Mike Brown as Assistant Boys Basketball Co0ach (Junior High)
• A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve a bid regarding asbestos abatement. The company employed is Schemell-Tarrillion Inc. and the amount of the bid was $16,510.
• A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the ten-year safety survey reports for Bennett, Emerson, and the CCEC.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to adjourn at 7:37 p.m.
