CAT Tracks for October 4, 2007 SPECIAL BOE MEETING - MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Answering roll call were Burris, Coleman, Mallory, and Stubblefield.

No employees or public asked to be recognized.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:04 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 6:46 p.m.

If you will recall...

At the September regular meeting of the Cairo Board of Education, a motion was made to employ Larry Baldwin as Head Boys Basketball Coach for CHS...a motion that failed due to a 3-3 vote. Burris, Mallory, and Stubblefield voted to employ Mr. Baldwin, while Brown, Mayberry, and Gooden voted "NO". Mary Coleman was absent for that meeting.

At tonight's Special Meeting of the BOE, the "no votes" were "no shows". When the recommendation was again made to employ Larry Baldwin as Head Boys Basketball Coach for CHS, the vote was unanimous in his favor.

In the only other action of the night, a motion was made, seconded, and passed to employ Jim Drew as Head Girls Basketball Coach for CHS.

The BOE voted to adjourn at 6:50 p.m.
