SPECIAL BOE MEETING - MINUTES


The Cairo Board of Education held a Special BOE Meeting on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 6 p.m. "for the purpose of interviewing candidates for Assistant Interim Superintendent." Below are the "minutes"...

The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m.

Coleman, Brown, Gooden, and Stubblefield were present. Vice President Stubblefield chaired the meeting in place of President Burris, who was on duty in the county due to the high winds experienced during the afternoon. Mr. Stubblefield also indicated that Mr. Mallory had called and indicated that he was not feeling well and that Mr. Mayberry was out of town.

No visitors asked to be speak.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the agenda.

The BOE voted to enter closed session at 6:06 p.m. The BOE voted to exit closed session at 6:43 p.m.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to employ Lee Rodgers as Interim Assistant Superintendent until such time as the BOE hires either an Interim Superintendent or a Superintendent.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to employ the services of the Illinois Association of School Boards to screen Interim and Superintendent Candidates.

A motion was made, seconded, and passed to adjourn at 6:47 p.m.
