Two Injured in Stabbing in Cairo

CAIRO, Ill. - Two people have been injured in a stabbing in Cairo. Police do have a suspect in custody.

Emergency crews responded to a call at the corner of 39th and Sycamore Street for a stabbing at the CutMart gas station around 11 a.m.

A witness working across the street from the gas station said a woman ran up to him with a cut on her arm asking him to call 911. Another victim was airlifted to a local hospital.

Two Injured in Cairo Stabbing

CAIRO, Ill. - Two people recover from serious stab wounds following an armed robbery this morning at a Cairo convenience store.

Police say 34-year old Curtis Williams of Decatur, Illinois, entered the Cut Mart and stabbed two workers. The victims are Fetmah Abukhdair and Timothy Lee, both of Mounds. They were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, and at last check they're listed in stable condition.

Within about an hour, Cairo police and other law enforcement agents caught up with Curtis Williams a few blocks away. He's in the TRICO Jail with charges pending.

Man Arrested In Violent Cairo Robbery

Thirty four year old Curtis Williams of Decatur, Illinois is being held in the tri-county correctional facility tonight.

Police say Williams walked into Cut Mart on Sycamore Street this morning demanding money. He had a knife and threatened employees.

The owner's wife was behind the counter.... she and another employee were both stabbed several times.

They are both in stable condition tonight. Police arrested williams about an hour later.
