Cairo Receives Federal Grant

CAIRO, IL--The city of Cairo has received $10,307 in federal grant money to help fight crime.

U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello says the money will be used to pay for more personnel and overtime for traffic details and road blocks, drug sweeps, and summer patrols in high crime areas.

Funds will also be spent on more equipment for patrol cars and officer training.
