CAT Tracks for March 28, 2007 PROPOSED 2007-08 SCHOOL CALENDAR

For those of you who really, really like to plan ahead!

For the past three years, a committee representing Cairo, Century, Egyptian, and Meridian schools have met to develop a common calendar. This year, that meeting was held on February 27th.

Below is the proposed calendar developed by that committee for your review. If you find any concerns, please let me know.

The biggest proposed change is to drop the observance of Lincoln's Birthday (which falls on Wednesday next year) in favor of Presidents' Day. Since Lincoln's Birthday is required by the Illinois School Code, the District(s) must request a waiver from ISBE...which they plan to do.
