OBITUARY

Candice Paige Hayward

ANNA - Candice Paige Hayward, 40, of Anna died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Feb. 16, 1966, in Carbondale, the daughter of Marvin E. and Mary Sue (Moreland) Caraker.

She married Douglas E. Hayward on Aug. 3, 1991, in Cobden.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and worked with the youth group. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in psychology and her master's degree from Eastern Illinois University. She served on the board at Sunrise Daycare Center in Anna and was the leader of her daughters Girl Scout Troop.

She was employed at JAMP Educational District as a school psychologist.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Hayward of Anna; three children, Julia Marie, Mason Douglas and Susannah Paige Hayward; one brother, Jason Caraker and his wife, Brandi, of Cobden; her parents, Marvin and Mary Sue Caraker of Cobden; father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Roland L. and Linda J. Haward of Chillicothe; niece, Jade Marie Caraker of Cobden; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Melicent Moreland; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Lona Caraker; mother-in-law, Susan K. Hayward; and cousin, Pam Richards.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, in Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Dr. Anette Westermark officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6,

Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Group in the Presbyterian Church in Cobden.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
