IEA CU Direct Deposit |
As the memo below indicates, the District and the IEA Credit Union have collaborated to enable the direct deposit of IEA Credit Union deductions beginning with the January 15, 2007, payroll. This effort results from member complaints last year concerning the untimely deposit of said deductions into their accounts...as much as two weeks following the payroll date! Yes, it took a while, but as they say...better late than never.
As the memo further indicates...if you wish to have your IEA Credit Union deduction direct deposited, you must make a personal visit to the District Central Office "no later than January 5, 2007" and provide the indicated "proof". This reporter took his last IEA CU statement - for the period 07/01/2006 - 09/30/2006 - to Accounting Supervisor Shavonna Shipley. She made a copy of same, returning the original to me. (Of course, you could facilitate the process by making your own copy ahead of time! Also...if you have "confidentiality concerns", you can copy the top portion of the statement only...giving them the IEA CU "identification", your name and address, and the membership number.) Shavonna then had me complete a short form (a new form) authorizing the direct deposit.
That was it...done!
I know that many of you do NOT like the "direct deposit" of your regular check...you like to see it with your own eyes...hold it in your own hands...personally deposit it into your own bank. NEW INFO AS OF DECEMBER 18TH: If that is the case...then you CANNOT do direct deposit of your IEA CU deduction! Sorry...
You have until January 5, 2007, to "take care of business". BUT...I would suggest sooner rather than later...like TODAY!!!
