Just received word that Virgil Thomas passed away yesterday morning. Virgil served as principal of Cairo High School for two years in the early 1980s.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Lynette, a 1960s graduate of Cairo High School.

OBITUARY:
VIRGIL THOMAS
Virgil T. Thomas, 73, of Las Vegas, died Nov. 10, 2006. He was a jeweler and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Lynette; sons, Michael of Massachusetts, Mark of Illinois, and Monty of Colorado; and daughter, Michelle of Florida. Visitation from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, services to follow, both at Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road.
