CAT Tracks for September 21, 2005
GOODBYE...HELLO

Without any fanfare, today marked the end of Dr. Samuel Harbin's tenure as an employee of Cairo School District Number One. Having served as Superintendent during the 2004-05 School Year and then a stint as "consultant" for the past 90 days, Dr. Harbin leaves a legacy of a school district back on financial track, having a much improved relationship with its certified personnel.

THANK YOU, DR. HARBIN! You will be missed...

Uh, wait a minute...maybe we won't miss him! I mean...is it possible to miss someone if he didn't leave?

For those of you who did not know...Dr. Harbin has returned from whence he came! At today's monthly meeting of the Cairo Financial Oversight Panel (FOP), Dr. Harbin was reappointed to the Panel to fill a vacancy.

(David Hindman, one of the original FOP members, resigned due to personal health problems. We certainly wish Dave the best during his treatment and recovery.)

So...at least once a month, Dr. Harbin will saddle up his old Missouri mule and make the trek back to Cairo. It's nice to know that his expertise and knowledge of the District's internal workings will not be lost.

WELCOME BACK, DOC! 'Bout time you returned...
