Guess the argument could be made that the "new" employment opportunities WERE advertised first in the paycheck notices...MONTHS AGO! But...then there was no advertisement...now, here we go again!? One would think that if the District decided NOT to fill the positions...months ago...for whatever reason...that renewed interest in doing so would be accompanied by a PROPER round of readvertisement...to employees first!

Well...since the positions are not "teaching positions" or "promotional positions" or "extracurricular positions" covered by the CAT Contract, guess we'll leave it to other unions to worry about this one.

But...a word to the wise...keep an eye on the Cairo Citizen as you continue to "check your check".

And speaking of which...

Yes...payroll errors continue to be made on a regular basis. Remember...if - make that WHEN - you find an error, if it is over $50...notify them in writing and they must fix it within 24 hours. If they don't...let the Association know...immediately!

Maybe that's the "good news" contained in the readvertisement of the payroll job! Maybe the District's new search will produce a candidate that can return us to the "good ol'days" when you did NOT have to spend payday trying to figure out if your check was right...you could simply "bank on it"!
