CAT Tracks for March 17, 2006
THE LUCK OF THE IRISH |
UPDATE: March 21st - 3 p.m. - Julie is walkin' and talkin'...
Still nothing but good news from the doctors. She got the nasty "nose tube" out today and walked briskly around her floor of the hospital. Still experiencing the "normal" surgical discomfort, but making steady progress. No word yet on a release date and any "travel advisories". In short...taking it a day at a time. Thanks to one and all for flowers, cards, well-wishes, and prayers!
The original March 17th edition is below...
...and I do have some Irish heritage!
If you will allow me a "Point of Personal Privilege"...
The patient wore a green gown and the surgeons all wore green...but then THEY always do! However...in keeping with the day...it all paid off. It's early and all the results aren't in, but the surgeon has a very good feeling for how things went today for Julie Newell. The surgery was more involved than expected and took FOUR hours...but, again, indications are that all is well! Julie will most likely be in the hospital (Hahnemann University Hospital in mid-town Philadelphia) for another week and the mending is definitely not fun, but the worst part is over...and hopefully there will be no need for follow-up treatment.
In short, it appears that we have achieved the best of a very bad situation!
THANK YOU...to one and all for your concern and prayers.
