NEATODAY - FEBRUARY 2006 |
Excuse me while I climb up on my soapbox for a minute...
The February edition of NEA Today arrived in your mailbox over the weekend. If you are one of those busy folks that doesn't seem to find time to do everything, much less read everything, I would encourage you to take the time to review a couple of articles in this edition.
Yeah...they are of the "liberal perspective"...but, then, what would you expect from a terrorist organization that daily dares to defend public education from the Bush administration's constant negative attacks in their blatant attempt to privatize our profession in a two-pronged effort to break the back of the dreaded teachers' union and to insure that their children do not have to attend school with the "riff raff"? (Actually, their children already attend private schools...they just want to get their tax dollars back in the form of vouchers, scholarships, etc.)
Okay...I warned you that I was on my soapbox.
However, if you read the following two articles (and referenced "in-depth" related articles), you will be assured...or possibly begin to see...that being "LIBERAL" can also mean being "RIGHT"!
Leading the Way: Teacher Power
View Point: Fixing Schools Isn't Everything
Incidentally, the NEA began a 4-part series on its history last month. Part 2 appears in the February edition. Both are linked below for your convenience...
