In the February 15th edition of CAT Tracks, the possibility of CSD #1 joining a health insurance buying co-op was presented. Various members of the CSD #1 insurance committee have attended meetings at the IEA headquarters in Marion...there have been five such meetings.

Some of the districts attending the meetings are getting antsy...wanting to form such a group. Therefore, at the last Marion meeting, the group decided that it was time to hold a "General Information Meeting" so that the rank-in-file could attend a presentation on what the co-op would mean to them...and to provide an opportunity for individuals to ask questions.

Accordingly, meetings have been scheduled at two locations (Trico and Jonesboro) next Monday and Tuesday afternoon/evening...two at each location. If at all possible, it would be a good idea for you to attend one of these meetings so that you will be able to make an informed decision on what direction our group needs to go.

The IEA/NEA in partnership with the P-20 Education Alliance is providing an informational meeting regarding the formation of a Health Insurance Cooperative in this area. This is in addition to the Williamson/Jackson County group that has formed. Neil Seltz, Insurance Consultant will be representing the P-20 Education Alliance.
