BOE APPROVES BUDGET |
In an uneventful meeting, the Cairo Board of Education approved the proposed budget for 2003-2004...
At 6 p.m., a public "Hearing on 2003-2004 Budget" was called to order. In attendance were Joe Griggs, Berlene Jones, Carlandus Mallory, James Huff, and Brenda Gooden.
The superintendent announced that the tentative budget which had been on reading for the past month had "not changed much". He then read a list of modifications. There were no questions from the Board and no testimony offered by attendees. The BOE then adjourned the public hearing and convened a special meeting at 6:12 p.m. The BOE immediately moved to approve the proposed budget for the 2003-2004 school year. The vote was unanimous.
At 6:15 p.m., the BOE voted to go into closed session to "discuss personnel issues that had financial implications." The BOE came out of closed session at 6:55 p.m. and voted to adjourn without further comment or action.
