AND "THEY" ATE CAKE!

Following the negativity expressed at Thursday night's meeting of the Cairo Board of Education concerning the "provisional" approval of the CHS SIP, Friday afternoon offered a refreshing change of pace...

After lunch on our first monthly District SIP day, Cairo Jr/Sr High School faculty reported to the library where they were treated to dessert...a "Congratulatory Cake", compliments of our ISBE coach. With Regional Superintendent Dan Anderson in attendance, Debbie Thomas was proud to announce that of the 18 schools in our region which submitted SIP plans, Bennett Elementary and Cairo Jr/Sr High finished #1 and #2! Bennett Elementary scored 27 out of a possible 30, with Cairo Jr/Sr High close on their heels with 25 out of a possible 30.

Isn't it amazing how different people can report the same event in such radically different ways?
