SPECIAL CAIRO BOE MEETING

Deja vu...all over again!

It was billed as "Employee Dismissal" - kicked up a notch from last week's "Employee Discipline" - but, the "public" outcome was the same. Upon opening the doors after spending 3 hours and 15 minutes in closed session, President Joe Griggs asked for a motion to adjourn - literally before the audience had a chance to sit down and before the Board's recording secretary had returned to her position. The motion was made, seconded, and approved.

However, in the interim, there were plenty of signs that something was afoot. First and foremost...the Board's attorney, Barney Mundorf, was on the clock. Also, IEA UniServ Director Jim Tammen was present. Several private meetings were held by the parties.

Since no public vote was taken by the Cairo BOE...required for any overt action taken as a result of discussions in closed session...it is apparent that some type of "deal" was struck.
