NO CHECK, NO LOAN...MORE ERRORS! |
On Friday, in anticipation of the first paycheck of the 2002-03 school year, you were warned to "check your check"...in light of the "usual errors". Well, if you haven't...DO! Here's a couple of reasons why...
CHECK...WHAT CHECK?
One unlucky soul did not receive a paycheck! Upon inquiry, this person was told that the person "in charge" (the DFP) would not be in until noon...if then...might not get a check today! In other words, the absence of a check on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...even if it was my fault...which of course it wasn't...it's NEVER "my fault". (If anyone happens to see Crystal Nance, please tell her to quit messing up our paychecks! Or was it the computer again? An old computer term applies to that excuse...GIGO!)
LOAN...YOU DIDN'T TAKE OUT A LOAN!
At least one CAT noticed that there was no deduction for the IEA Credit Union...required due to the District treatment of its certified staff at the end of last year; namely, repayment of the money lost due to the District's refusal to make up the 17 days missed. Upon inquiry, the DFP stated that "maybe you didn't take out a loan"...that "I sent in the correct amount of money to the IEA Credit Union." Well...yes, the teacher DID take out a loan! So...if the correct amount of money was sent in...whose money was it? The District's? Yours?
WILL WE EVER GET IT RIGHT?
Remember the "good old days"...when you just cashed your check...and paid your bills. No dreaded anticipation...no crisis! Ahhhhh... For the past couple of years, EVERY PAY DAY seems to spawn a new tale of horror...met with an infuriating lack of concern on the part of the person responsible.
I bet the "powers that be" got paychecks on Friday...I bet their deductions were right! After all...WE are just "pee on's".
SO...AGAIN...CHECK YOUR CHECK!
