CAT Tracks for August 28, 2002
SPECIAL EDITION - STRIKE LOANS |
The CAT has received the IEA Credit Union forms that must be completed to set up payroll deduction for the repayment of strike loans. There are four (4) options:
1. If you did NOT take out a strike loan...TODAY is the last day to give Mildred your personal check to cover normal payroll deductions for August - i.e. AFLAC, Colonial, BCBS Family Plan premium, etc. You can now safely ignore the remainder of this edition of CAT Tracks.
2. If you were NOT having a payroll deduction for the IEA Credit Union last year...you will check the first box that indicates "I wish to begin deducting" and fill in the amount to be deducted per pay check. (For your convenience, your building representative has a list showing the amount. If you question the amount, contact Ron Newell as soon as possible.)
If you WERE already having a payroll deduction for the IEA Credit Union, there are two possibilities:
3. If your deduction is for a previous loan, you must check the second box that indicates "I wish to change my deduction to" and add the new amount (which can be obtained from your building representative) to the old amount to product the new total.
4. If your deduction is for savings, you have several choices:
a. If your current deduction is coincidentally exactly what your loan amount is...you could simply do nothing. BUT...keep in mind that you will no longer accrue savings! If you wish to continue your savings plan, then check the second box and fill in the increased amount to cover the loan and whatever savings that you wish to have.
b. If your current deduction is less than the loan amount, you will check the second box and increase your deduction to at least the loan amount...more if you wish to continue your savings plan by some, all, or more.
c. If your current deduction is more than the loan amount, you could do nothing...the IEA Credit Union will deduct the loan amount from your current savings account. However, be sure that you make that adjustment to your saving's record. If you wish to increase your savings by more than the difference, you would check the second box and increase your current deduction accordingly.
Have I totally confused you yet? If so, then go back and find YOUR SITUATION...only one of the above should apply to you! Re-read that one! Hopefully, it will become clear what is to be done.
If NOT...contact Ron Newell...TODAY! We need these forms completed ASAP...TODAY - Wednesday, August 28th - if possible!
All building reps (De De, Ledora, Deborah, Ron) should have the forms by 9:30 a.m. today - Wednesday, August 28th. Fill in ALL of the blanks. (EXCEPTION: "Payroll Number" box...leave blank.) For "Name of School District", please put "Cairo School District #1". For the "Effective Date", please put "September 1, 2002". Be sure to sign the form and date it. Return the form to your CAT building representative...we need BOTH copies.
AGAIN...if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Ron Newell. I want to thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter!
