Trip to Italy and Greece

Pisa

We begin with something you should recognize, the leaning tower of Pisa.. It immediately started leaning after the third floor was finished ,and work was stopped on it. Later three more stories were added and even later the cap at the top was built.

The leaning tower serves as bell tower for this Duomo (cathedral)  seen here.

This is interesting , this is one of the bricks on the side of the Duomo. This brick came from a ancient Roman temple, we can tell because of the inscriptions and the clearly defined name Hadrian, an Emperor of the age of the good Emperors.

On the left is a statue of Romulus and Remus the founders of Rome being suckled by a she-wolf. On the right is a monument housed in the baptistery which is opposite the Duomo.

Finally it's one last look at the tower and it's on to Italy's capital, Rome, but first let's stop at Assisi.
