Topic
Engines. How they work. I plan on doing the car engine, steam engine, jet engine, and diesel engine. I choose this topic because it was a challenge to find all the information on all these sections.
Goal:
I want to learn how certain types of engines work, because I never knew before how they worked before I started on this project. I will go as far as I have time for. It will be very detailed through.
Plan:
Resources:
See Bibliography page
Form:
My project will take the form of a web-page. My target audience is anyone who wants to visit my site, or is just looking around. The information will be organized the same way it was done on my previous 2 projects because it is an easy way to navigate between the pages.
Introduction:
My introduction was already done when I wrote this. It is a very simple introduction with an attention-getter, and edited so that the project sounds interesting.
Lab Work
I did not do any lab work for this project.
Understanding:
I tried to organize my information so that it is very easy to find anything you are looking for. It was hard to translate the topic from a textbook definitions to my own words, but I did my best so that it was easy to read and understand.
Historical Content:
The discovery of most of these engine came around the turn of the century, but some like the steam engine were way before, and the jet engine was way after. These engines were a big part of the wars in the 20th century, and made warfare a lot faster and deadlier. These engines were not created to help a country in a war, they just happened to be used for that purpose later on in evolution.
Social Context:
This topic is very relevant today because almost everybody uses a car for transportation, and knowing how the engine works will help them shop for a car, and to fix their car themselves.
Evaluation:
I will do this part in class.
