The Drum Major is one of the vital parts of any marching band.  At Tri-Valley, the position has become more than just a leader of music.  Drum majors of the Bulldog band exhibit showmanship through the use of maces, and are leaders on and off the field.  The show would not come together if it wasn't for the assistance of drum majors behind the scenes helping each section work through music and just answering general questions.  All drum majors attend a four day summer camp directed by legend Reading Buccaneer Drum Major, George Parks.  In recent years, the amount of candidates for the position has gradually increased, and continues to grow each year.  Drum majors have a class after school beginning in late February and ending in mid-May.  The class is taught by the current drum majors, past drum majors, and Mr. Schmaldienst.  The classes teach drum major essentials such as patterns and proper end with a three day evaluation/audition.  The drum majors at Tri-Valley are recognized throughout Schuylkill County and have redefined the role of a drum major.
