Raymond Raedy: (email: rraedyREMOVE@medicinemanremedies.com)
Daniel REIDY [b in 1840 in Co Kerry] emigrated to the U.S. in 1863, settled in Washington DC, mar Mary COURTNEY, [dau of Patrick Courtney and Mary COUNIHAN, b 1840 in Co Kerry]. Baptismal records of their children have last name spelled READY. They had 8 children but I can only locate records on 7. Spelling changed to RAEDY between 1900 and 1910.

Ginni Welch: (email:ginniwelchREMOVE@hotmail.com )
I'm interested in gathering what ever information I can before I fly out to Ireland later on this year; the few facts that I know so far are:
Thomas Reidy was b: abt 1827, Limerick Ireland, d: 4 April 1870 in Tasmania Australia. M: Mary Jane French(1841-1919) 9 November 1857 in North Sydney Australia.
They had 2 boys, Thomas b: abt 1859, and John William b: 1867, and 3 girls:
Mary Reidy (4 March 1865-5 March 1924) m James Welch (1863-1924) in 1886 NSW.
Millicent Reidy b: abt 1863
Mary Reidy m: 1884 to Charles R Downey

Mary Allen: (email: mary.allenREMOVE@ul.ie)
Jeremiah J Reidy and William J Reidy (brothers) emigrated to Chicago in the late 1800s or early 1900s. (They may have originally been from Dromcollogher, Broadford, or Kileedy in Co Limerick). Jeremiah J married a lady called Ida and had one daughter called Mary who was married in Arizona and had a daughter called Mary. (I think her married name may have been Wolklo ?). William J Reidy (1884-1937) married Delia and had 2 sons - Jeremiah J. and William J.
Jeremiah J (1909-1975) married Gladys and had no children. William J (?-c1974) was married in Miliwakee and had 4 Sons. I was hoping that maybe his four sons would still be alive or that they have some family.

Mary Sullivan: (email:auntlahleeREMOVE@verizon.net)
My great-great grandmother, Mary Ready was born in Benlietrum (Meenlietrum),County Kerry. Her father's name was John. Mary married Dennis Sullivan, also of County Kerry, in Pittsburgh, PA in 1856. They settled in Missouri by 1860. Mary died in St. Louis in October of 1922, and was buried in Sedalia, MO. Mary had a brother John, an ancestor of George Ready, who settled in Mississippi. Additional siblings of Mary Reidy Sullivan include Nicholas, buried in Missouri, and Julia (died in Ireland). After her mother died, her father remarried. Second wife was Ellen Sullivan of Listowel, daughter of Jeremiah. Their children included Jeremiah, Ellen and Julia.

Bob Lee : (email: robert_lee431REMOVE@yahoo.com) My Great Grandfather Eugene McCarthy was born in Co Kerry (possibly Castlegregory) in 1831. His parents were Florence and Julia Reidy McCarthy. Unfortunately that is really all we know about them. He did have an older brother Dennis, and at least two sisters. Eugene immigrated in 1847 and ended up in Wellsville NY. His wife was Mary Ann Magner McCarthy. Her parents John and Ellen Harrington Magner were from Fermoy, County Cork. Incidentally Ellen's Mother was Bridget O'Brien wife of Thomas Harrington. The family legend has it that Bridget was related to William S O'Brien who was one of the Comstock load's Big Irish four.

Tim Reidy asked : (email: wireelectricREMOVE@adelphia.net) There are a fair amount of Reidy families in Elmira & Chemung County, New York. When & where in Ireland did they come from? our family came from Tullycrine, County Clare approx 1900.

Jason Edleman: (email: jason.edlemanREMOVE@gmail.com )
After years of wondering my lineage, I have begin a serious search. My 94 yr old grandfather remembers little of his father. But from what he knows:
His father’s name was Edward Edleman and was adopted. His original name was Reidy (of some spelling). He was 53 when he died in 1935. So, that would make him born in 1882. I know he was adopted in the USA. He died in Lorain OH. That is all I have to go on at this point. His wife was born in North Baltimore Ohio and her maiden name was Pallinger. I have no knowledge of his birthplace, parents names, or if he was adopted from an orphanage.
I hope that there might be someone out there who knows of any adoptions. Thank You.

DNA Projects - Several folks have started DNA projects seeking to find connections between people with the same of similar surnames.people from the same area and so forth. If you have a project related to the Reidy name or its variants, let me know,
