Ray's REIDYs

Two Reidy families from northeast County Kerry in the Parish of Castleisland sent some of their offspring to the United States in the period just after the Civil War. They are believed to be related to each other, but the nature of the relationship is not exactly known.

CATHERINE MURPHY, b. 1 August 1847, Muinganear, Co. Kerry, died 13 July 1920, Marquette, MI. (Sister of Michael Murphy, Kate Reidy's husband) - Father: Edmund Murphy

3. JEREMIAH REIDY, Born, 1 May, 1841, Meenleitrim, Brosna/Knocknagoshel, Castleisland, Co. Kerry, died, 2 Feb 1927, Ironwood, MI
married and had 9 children with:

married MICHAEL MURPHY, born Muinganear, County Kerry, Ireland (brother of Catherine Murphy, Denis' wife). - Father: Edmund Murphy

JOHN MCAULIFFE, born c. 02 May 1843, Co. Kerry, died 18 August, 1922, Negaunee, MI
Father: Dennis McAuliffe - born and died in Ireland
Mother: ELLEN REIDY - born and died in Ireland
John McAuliffe was a cousin of Jeremiah Reidy (above), either through his mother or his wife.

3. PATRICK REIDY, born c.2 Feb, 1846, Co. Kerry, died 04 September, Negaunee, MI
married and had 12 children with:
