Enter Sal's Place

E mokopuna,
land is a tupuna right.

It cannot be bought, bartered or sold.
It does not belong to one individual,
now or ever.

Let nobody take your land from you,
because without land you have nowhere to stand.
Let nobody take your valley from you,
because it is your tupuna right.

Every person has a valley.
Every person has a stream that runs through it.
Not to have these things to irrigate your heart means that your heart must fail of loneliness.

I haven't quite got around to putting my poetry on the site yet ( Arial ).
