Considering as a first step in designing a hotel to be analyzing the location proposed and its environment in means of
constraints and opportunities. Some important issues such as how will the guests arrive at he site, how they might best
approach the building is there adequate and convenient parking, driveways, sidewalks, emergency access, etc...
Thus leading the succeeding studies an analysis of the proposed hotel location, site and environment is carried out. Analysis
done involve the items like:

Visibility and accessibility: Road access and surrounding street patterns considered.

Regulatory restricitons: Research applicable height restrictions, parking requirements and other zoning codes.

Site character: Describing the qualities of the site such as surrounding uses and views

Orientation and climate: Locating the building and recreational facilities to maximize sunlight.

Adoptability: Determining the site’s potential expansion or development for other uses.

METU Alumni Center is located at Vişnelik Yüzüncü Yıl in Ankara. Yüzüncü Yıl being very near to METU campus; Alumni
Center benefits the opportunities offered in the campus area. Also site of hotel is very near distant from AŞTİ ( Ankara
Şehirlerarası Terminal İşletmeleri ) nearly 10 minutes ( 5 km ) away. Esenboğa Airport in Ankara is 35 km away and there is a
quite often bus and minibus trips from central Ankara sites like Kızılay, Ulus. In addition to these location of the proposed
hotel being very close to Eskişehir Highway, one of the main streets os Ankara, offers an easy road access into the site.

Site of the hotel, by the Alumni Center offers recreational facilities, the children’s park, swimming pools,, anti theatre, grill
bars, party areas, dancing pists, running ways, parking areas etc...  Among these facilities an enlargement of the parking area
due to additional guests is proposed. Environment of the hotel may be considered as a nature friendly surrounding near the
METU Forest, a good view of Ankara, A.O.Ç ( Atatürk Orman Çiftliği ) and sunset, clearly a beautiful environment in Ankara.
