Parliamentary Procedure Q&A

Q: When a correction to the minutes is made, is it appropriate to go back and physically correct the previous minutes, or is the correction merely noted in the current minutes? - S.J.R., Feb. 2, 2000

A: The Secretary would physically change the previous minutes. The preferred method is to draw a line through the error (but not so that the original is obscured), and insert the correction. Also write the name of the person correcting the minutes, along with the current date and the date of the meeting that voted to correct them.
