I've never been good, at saying goodbye,
I'm not one who clings, you won't see me cry,

I've never been good, at ultimatums, demands,
needing someone, or taking a hand,

I've never been good, at being in love,
I won't let you close, when push comes to shove,

I've never been good at learning to trust,
I hide from commitment, and give in to lust,

I've never been good, at that give and take,
I can't lose myself, won't make that mistake,

I've never been good, at letting you know,
that I cared at all, I can't let that show,

I've never been good, at just being me,
there is too much inside, that I can't let you see,

I've never been good, at taking the blame,
setting up house, or staking a claim,

I've never been good, at telling the truth,
I could say I love you, but not show you the proof,

I've never been good, at admitting I'm wrong,
I have to be right, I have to be strong,

I've never been good, at living a lie,
so tomorrow I'll leave, without saying goodbye.
