Lantern
I did not light my lantern,
for I did not think the storm would
come. The wind started blowing and
the storm shook the house.
I was left in darkness to pay the price.
I did not prepare the lantern.
It was not lit in time of need.
The voice of the darkness was glad I paid no heed.
The darkness and coldness were here.
The lantern broke in little pieces.
I wept for it was too late.
I should have lit my lantern.
