Now, is it just me, or is school a place of learning? Aren't books the tools of learning? I agree that some books aren't appropriate for school use. But what's the point of banning them? Why not just refrain from ordering them? How can books be a tool of learning if they aren't allowed in the school? If I knew a book was banned in a library, I'd fine a way to get my hands on it so I could see why it was banned. Wouldn't you? If the library banned it, you could probably find it really easily through the local bookstore. Isn't it kind of stupid to teach free speach then ban books? Are these books being banned for being too graphic, or too explicit, or having too many expletivies? The Bible is full of material that would get any other book banned, but it's in every school. Is it just me, or does this seem a little unfair to the rest of the books? There are books now that are required reading, that were banned when they first came out. Doesn't this say something about banning books? Something like, if you ban them now they'll be required reading as "classic" literature later. What's the point of waiting? Just make them required reading now, and nobody will want to read them. I know I never wanted to read the required reading, I always brought in my own books to read. The only thing is that the books I brought in were at a higher level than the books I was requred to read, that I wouldn't even touch. It always seemed to upset my teachers that I was reading everything but the required reading, and that it was at a higher level. On top of it I was reading 2 a week, when they gave us a month to finish the thin required reading.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for listening again.
