Density of Lead Graph and Questions

  1. The equation is based on the ratio of mass to volume. Divide the mass by the volume and don't forget the units.
  2. #3 density = 11.3 g/ml (don't forget to round off properly)
  3. #3 density = 11.296 = 11.3 g/ml on the round off.
  4. Approximately 10.6 ml
  5. Approximately 158 g
  6. Find the mass value. Go across to your graph line. Now, go straight down to the volume axis. Read the value on this axis. That's your answer.
    This process is called interpolation.
  7. Because these are measured values there will always be human errorin measuring and instrument error. (How accurate are you at reading a ruler or graduated cylinder). This does not take into account carelss sloppy errors.
  8. Slope of line is calculated from rise over run. The value depends on how you drew the line. Answer is somewhere around 11.3 g/ml.
    Don't forget the units!
