Black Bear '61, Golf Outing
Hats
off to Ellis Smith for arranging a terrific
golf outing, and doing so all the way from
northeast Tennessee. In addition to Ellis,
players came from such far flung locations
as Texas, Florida and Montana.
Nineteen
class members enjoyed the outing, including
two ladies. These early risers started our
reunion experience off by meeting for 8:00
o'clock a.m. tee times at Ol' Colony Golf
Complex, the beautiful new course
designed by Jerry Pate. That and the courteous
staff made for a wonderful
time, although a player who would admit a
good game was hard to find. Seeing old
friends for the first time in years was, of
course, the highlight of the outing. Ellis
and some
classmates played on Saturday, also and were
much more relaxed. All in all, everybody had
a great weekend of fun and recreation.
