Susan Elmore arranged for any
interested Saturday
morning guided
tour of one of the most extensive private
collection of American and oriental art in
the United States. This beautiful collection
graces the Headquarters of Gulf States
Paper Corporation. Exotic
birds strolled
through
manicured
Japanese gardens, swans and ducks swam in
clear ponds.
Our
group of about twelve very much appreciated
the chance to see this Tuscaloosa gem. A
retired Gulf States employee made an expert
guide and a most gracious hostess. Prior
to leaving we were entertained by a charming
cockatoo
named Bama, which bid us "Goodbye"
as we left.
Warner Collection of American Fine and
Decorative Arts is 'unparalleled’ and is
now beautifully exhibited at the new Westervelt
Warner Museum, adjacent to the North
River Yacht Club and Golf Club. It is now
open to the public 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Tuesday-Saturday, and 1- 5 p.m.
Sundays.
Read about it in the January
19, 2003 Tuscaloosa News article By Mark
