Introduction to Islam

Sundays, October 14, 21, 28, 4:30-6:00 PM at the UU Church, 326 Main St. Wakefield, MA

In response to the September 11th attacks and as a way to bring about greater understanding and  promote tolerance, we are offering this course to educate ourselves and the community about Islam.  It is open to the community and appropriate for all ages.

About the teacher, Fayez Khajawa:

"I am a software engineer working with Christine Shirey (UU church member) in Burlington, MA.  I was born in Cardiff, Wales. I have lived in London, England, and also in Kaduna, Nigeria.  I moved to the US in 1982.  I spent 13 years in New York City.  I still have family there.  I moved to Boston in 1995.  I have been active in informing about Islam to non-Muslim visitors at the Mosque in Cambridge.   Currently I am teaching at an Islamic school in Northborough, teaching Sunday school at the Mosque in Worcester, involved in informing the American public of Islam, and am a committee member of MAS Youth of Boston, a youth group that is working to motivate and inspire Muslim youth."
