Today's Glimpse...

"You came near when I called you,
and you said, "Do not fear"."
Lamentations 3:57

Last night a bunch of us went out and prayed down at the beach... it was a really moving time... many tears and much crying out to God. There is no more encouraging thought to me than the knowledge that God comes near when we call or cry out to him. It's truth and it's a promise. It's not based on whether I feel like it's true or not - it is. I think about the times someone comes near to me or I to them.. it's usually about comfort. You draw near to someone when you want to hear what they have to say, when you want to communicate that your heart is with them or when you want your presence to be felt - that is what God does for us!
