Today's Glimpse...

"I am the Lord your God,
who brought you up out of Egypt.
Open wide your mouth and I will fill it."
Psalm 81:10

My little glimpses pale in comparison to the majesty that is our God especially as revealed by Henry Kriete in the last couple of days. I was privileged to be at the DPI seminar on Worship the King and then to have Henry speak at our Worship service and leaders meeting was incredible... I'm still speechless and completely satiated from all I've heard. But... since the writing the glimpses helps me so much I will continue...

I've just returned from a couple of weeks vacation where I was able to spend time in Maine and then North Dakota, both were exceptionally peaceful locations and really helped me to see God continually. Not only is the creation/nature very peaceful and calming but it's an incredible teacher, of course that was part of God's plan! Something about waking up and not having to rush off into the day but being able to take the time to relax and meditate on God, to see the simplicity of life as God designed it, to have extra and relaxed time to be with him every day and to spend so much time surrounded by the creation that is so refreshing... a little hard to get up and get back into the my routine this morning.

I stumbled on this verse in Psalm 81 as I was looking up something else this morning and it opened my eyes to how much God wants to give us and fill us up! First he helps us see that he is the ONLY one worthy of worship! He has exclusive claim to the Israelite's worship because he brought them out of slavery - he freed them - he was the only one who could have. They owe their all to him and the same is true for me today! The second part of the verse brings to mind a picture from my vacation... a couple of mornings while we were spending time with God we saw a mother bird feeding her young - what an incredible sight. To see the baby birds with their mouths open wide hindering and clamoring to be fed and the mother so willing to feed them. This is the picture God wants us to have of him. He is the ONLY one who can supply all our needs, there is NO deficiency in God - I need never attempt to go to anyone or anything else t be filled... consider Paul's point...

"But now that you know God-or rather are known by God-how is it
that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles?
Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?"
Galatians 4:9
