Today's Glimpse...

"Elephants are huge and powerful, yet they exhibit tender care for one another. If one is sick or injured, the others draw near and caress it with their trunk- much as we would rub someone's shoulders - as if to say, "I love you. I'm here for you. It'll be all right." As the family moves, they walk slowly so the injured one can keep up. If it cannot walk, they try to keep it on its feet. If it falls, they use their trunks to help it back up. At the first sign of attack, the strong healthy adults surround the weak and injured and protect them." -- DJ (issue 125 Sept/Oct)

I read this in an article this morning and it made me more grateful for the body and more grateful for God's wisdom in creating the church as a body. It's kind of a funny subject but.. however God can move in my heart is okay with me... It helped me see even more clearly that as I've moved through a challenging time in my life I have felt his protected and taken care of, in and by, the body. Even this morning I asked a friend for something I needed, something I needed to hear to meet an emotional need because I was feeling insecure and what gives me the confidence to push through in those moments is the love and care I've already received in the body. What I have in being part of the body, the church is incredible and I don't ever want to lose sight of that!

"... there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored every part rejoices with it.
Now you are the body of Christ."
1 Corinthians 12:25-26
