Raging debate continues in North America over safety in the skies. The US is currently training air marshals. The pilots in the US want to carry weapons themselves. Canada is dead set against pilots carrying, but is considering air marshals. People are torn up about it. On the one hand, they want to feel safe in the plane. On the other hand, with guns on board, there is always the possibility of explosive decompression or some other such thing. Quite the dilemma isn't it?

My solution? Everybody should pack heat. Pilots, flight attendants, passengers, terrorists, everybody. With this scenario, it seems extremely unlikely that a World Trade Center incident will occur again. If everybody's carrying, the terrorists would be very hard pressed to take control of the plane. They'd be shot down by Texan cowboys or L.A. gangsters or something in a flash. So that possibility will be eliminated. In the case of only a select number of people carrying gun, you'd almost think that the possibility goes up, because if the terrorists can gain control of those guns, then it's bye bye big downtown office buildings. But everybody wants to be a hero. Especially when the alternative is death in a flaming fireball.

Another reason for universal allowance of weapons on planes? It's totally American. The right to bear arms, right? Well, I think that Americans should have the right to bear arms in a plane as well. I mean, why the hell not?

Well, there are little things, such as the fact that single deaths will become more common on planes. Also, a drastically increased chance of that little thing again, that they call explosive decompression. But isn't that better than having a repeat of the incidents on September 11?
