So, Trevor Linden is back in town. It took me a little while to decide where I stood on this. When Linden was traded back in '97, I was sort of in shock, that they would do something like that. It was well known that Linden was the heart and soul of the Canucks. But since leaving the Canucks, he's pretty much sucked. So what should we expect?

Well, first the technical parts of the trade. We got Linden and a second round pick for our first and third round picks.

So is he going to be worth it? I don't know. But I mean....you get what could be a bigtime help to your team (he certainly isn't going to make the team worse at this point), and do it for a draft pick. Pretty good deal I guess.

Linden will bring leadership to the team, there's no doubt about that. He'll also bring a big presence in the community. And he'll sell lots of tickets. So, at this early stage, before he's played a game, I say that I'm happy with the potential of this trade, and am hoping for big things. I've always been a big big Linden fan.
