Have you ever seen a guy get a card for another guy? Like a birthday card, I'm talking about. Never right? I never have. Why? It's because guys don't like cards. Guys know that guys don't like cards. So they don't get them for other guys. Girls on the other hand, like cards. Since they like cards, they assume everybody does. So they get them for girls as well as guys.

So now that we've established that girls like cards and guys don't like cards, let's look at why that is. Guys have no real use for cards. Cards are symbols, correct? Symbols of care that one person has for another. I guess guys aren't big on symbols or something eh? Guys would rather you buy them a beer than a card. Something they can use. Hallmark and Shoebox and whoever else, have no concept of guys. They make the girly cards a little less girly, and say well, here you are! A guy card! Doesn't work that way. Or maybe they're not so dumb after all.....I mean, it's girls buying the cards isn't it?

And why do girls like cards? I guess for the same reason that guys don't. It's a symbol. Something they can keep forever, and look back on it once in awhile and say, Oh look, I got a card from Benny back in 1983. Something for the scrapbook.

One more comment about cards, if I may. How the hell do they get away with charging such ridiculous prices for these things? I mean.......how much can they cost to make? After tax, you're talking about $5 Cdn per card. They have to pay an artist/designer. Have some sort of printing press I guess. Buy the ink and paper. You're telling me that costs $5? Give me a break. The ones you buy at the dollar store are $1, and are basically the same as the $5 ones at Hallmark. So for every card you buy, 80% of the money goes to the card store. Damn, maybe I should buy me a cardstore. That's it. My next birthday, I don't want any cards. Just give me the whole store.
