Everybody's done the taste test thing that Pepsi used to have at all sorts of events. They don't seem to do them anymore, which is a shame, I liked the free pop. But only because it was free, not because it was pop. Quite honestly, I don't like pop all that much. I'll drink it, and I'll enjoy it, but given the choice between pop and water, I'll more often than not choose water. Anyways. Coke and Pepsi.
Everybody has their own opinions on this. But the generally accepted one, and the one experienced by me, is that Pepsi is a little bit sweeter than Coke. And a little bit flatter. Coke, by comparison, is a bit fizzier, and less sweet than Pepsi. I find that Pepsi really tends to coat your teeth with crap, Coke less so. I think that Coke has this certain flavour to it (perhaps from the cocaine), that Pepsi lacks. I think that Pepsi tastes more like sugar than anything else. You may have guessed that, yes, I do like Coke better than Pepsi. Its subtle flavour is what really brings home the prize. Without it, it would probably be a sawoff, because I like the flatness of Pepsi, but I don't like the extra sweetness of it.
So there you have it. My opinion of Coke vs. Pepsi. And I ought to run through a few of the other choices. President's Choice Cola is even sweeter and even flatter than Pepsi. No thanks. And Safeway's Cragmont brand....this is the worst of all. It tastes like pure crap.
And there you have it. Have a good day.
