Now, why are martial arts movies better? Perhaps I have a bias towards them because I can respect the skill necessary to execute martial arts sequences, having had some training in it myself. It really seems to me as though actors who perform martial arts scenes have to have some kind of skill to be able to make them look realistic. Whereas gun fights....well, I bet that even somebody as unschooled in firearms as I could pull off a gun fighting scene. Martial arts scenes are also harder to choreograph, I think.
I just respect martial arts fighting more than shooting guns. I recognize in my mind that shooting a gun well takes skill. But I can feel in my bones the skill needed for martial arts. I'm just more in tune with it I guess.
This was stupid.
