They make me feel proud to be an American. Which is really strange because I'm not even an American. But these movies evoke such patriotic feelings that they're hard not to like, for me at least. I don't know why. I guess that I think that the love of a country is admirable, and noble. But....why do I think that? American literature and culture engrains that feeling into its people. And I of course, am a product of the American system. Don't you think that it's heroic?
Many of my fellow Canadians, I know, find such movies stupid. And I admit, some are over the top. But done well, I think that they are just really good. I don't know. Call me a sucker. I think that many Canadians are so brainwashed that anything the Americans are do is bad, that they just don't buy the American drivel like I do. Some sort of anti-American backlash or something. Don't get me wrong. I dislike Americans as much as the next Canadian. I just get suckered in by the "America" movies, is all. Anyways, that's about all I wanted to say I guess.
